Maya Jama has revealed how her friends have made her feel “invincible” almost a year after breaking off her engagement to NBA star Ben Simmons.

The Love Island presenter, 28, has been single since calling time on their relationship last August as the former couple reportedly grappled with long distance and clashing work schedules.

In the months following their split, the Bristol native was linked with Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio, 48, and former flame Stormzy, 29, both of which she has denied.

And while interest in her personal life will continue, the TV star has explained how having her pals' unconditional support in life has been empowering as she reflected on being authentically herself for her new brand partnership with Gordon’s Premium Pink.

Discussing the collaboration and how it makes her think of her mates, Jama shared: “When I’m spending time with my friends I feel invincible.

“Knowing your people are going to be there through whatever, not having to act any different way and be loved for every inch of you through the good, the bad, the ugly, the cute.”

Adding: “I find it quite difficult to act any other way than myself which is sometimes fantastic, sometimes, ‘shut your mouth’.

“What you get is what you see, unapologetically myself, [I] can’t pretend so hopefully you like it.”

Her candid comments come as she announced a creative partnership with Gordon’s Gin, developing her Clink with Pink collection, which features two limited edition bottles of Premium Pink gin featuring the catchphrases, “You’re a Limited Edition, My Love” and “Cling Cling, My Honeys”.

The British TV presenter said of the collaboration: “The brand wanted to focus on bringing people together, which is how I approach all my work, so I couldn’t wait to get started.

“Clink With Pink is all about being unapologetically yourself and having the best time with friends.”
