In her trademark animal print clingy numbers, former Spice Girl Mel B always stood out in the Spice Girls line-up.

And now, the lycra-loving mother of two has launched her own clothing line - but it would take a brave woman to wear it.

Reflecting the contents of Mel's own onstage wardrobe, the Catty Couture line of skimpy body-hugging designs feature plenty of her beloved animal print patterns.

Mel launched the range at a catwalk show at California Market Centre in Los Angeles, with support from husband Stephen Belafonte.

Clearly, the skimpy, brash outfits would hold no terror for Mel, as she showed off her taut gym body, honed by vigorous fitness regimes after giving birth to daughter Angel Iris Murphy a year ago.

But it's unclear whether that look will translate for the ordinary woman in the street.

In a clear bid to compete with bandmate Victoria Beckham, who has fronted her own dVb denim line for some time now, the dynamic Leeds girl and newly announced face of lingerie brand Ultimo, has been secretly at work on a range called Catty Couture.

But judging by the first look at Mel's collection, Victoria will hardly be quaking in her stilettos.

Meanwhile, Mel's continued bid to forge a career stateside has finally paid off as she has landed a new TV show.

The Leeds born Spice Girl will pair up with Joey Fatone, of Justin Timberlake's former chart-topping boy band Nsync, to find undiscovered musical talent — in the office.

Teamwork: Husband Stephen Belafonte was on hand to support his wife's new venture

On The Singing Office, Fatone and Brown will surprise unsuspecting employees in workplaces across the country by showing up and holding impromptu auditions.

Mel said: "It's not like American Idol or Dancing With the Stars. It's not a serious competition.

"It gives people a break from their everyday lives to have some fun with their co-workers."
