Web Wizards is a new exhibition at the Design Museum showing the work of the latest generation of international web design stars. The history of computers and digital images is on interactive display, along with landmarks in computer and games design.

Chatham Dockyard has been building ships since Tudor times. Today you can see a Cold War submarine, a Second World War Naval Destroyer, helicopters and 175 years of RNLI lifeboats. There are also river trips on a paddle steamer.

Details: Trains go from Victoria/Charing Cross to Chatham. Open 10am-4pm Wed, Sat, Sun in March and 10am-5pm daily from April. Tickets £9.50 adults, £6 children. Call 01634 823800.

As well as the usual exhibits at the Tower of London from 29 March to 7 April you can take part in the Great Crown Jewels Robbery, which Captain Blood nearly pulled off in 1671. This was the only ever attempt to steal the jewels and the king was so impressed, he pardoned Blood and gave him a pension for life.

See tiaras, modelling and photography at Victoria and Albert Museum including headpieces worn by Queen Victoria, Elton John and Victoria Beckham. On 2, 3 and 4 April (from 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm) you can learn clay modelling and create your own terracotta sculpture.

Explore the Middle Ages at the Museum of London On 27 March and 1 April at 2pm and 4pm see a monastery, meet a monk and learn about illuminated manuscripts. On 28 March and 4 April there are Tales of Chivalry (at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm). On 13 and 14 April there is a Mediaeval Muster - take part in a spectacular display of weaponry, cavalry, archers and gunners as craftspeople and fighters prepare to do battle.

Museum of Childhood at Bethnal Green has free art activities daily as well as Soft Play for under fives (from 10.15am, 40-minute sessions cost £1.80).

The Natural History Museum is still running the hugely popular Predators exhibition and there is a new member of the Dinosaur exhibition - a four-metre high animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex that even has an authentic smell!
