Neil Young will headline Hyde Park next summer in a move which should cheer fans left disappointed when he was forced to cancel part of this year’s European tour.

Young, with his band Crazy Horse, will play the Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park concert on July 12 with special guests including The National, Tom Odell and Nashville singer Caitlin Rose.

The 68-year-old Canadian star, who has just published an autobiography and releases new album Live At The Cellar Door this week, cancelled his European tour including a return concert at The 02 after his guitarist Frank “Poncho” Sampedro broke his hand in an accident in August.

The series of concerts will run for 10 days from July 4 to 13 and includes McBusted — the group formed by Busted and McFly — with special guests The Backstreet Boys on July 6.

Barclaycard customers can get tickets from Wednesday and general release is Friday.
