Paddington 2 trailer: First look at Hugh Grant and Brendan Gleeson in eagerly-awaited sequel

Hugh Grant and Brendan Gleeson star in the brand new trailer for the eagerly-awaited sequel to Paddington.

The new additions join returning cast Julie Walters, Hugh Bonneville, Peter Capaldi and Sally Hawkins in the follow-up to 2014’s box office hit.

Debuting their characters in the newly-released trailer, Gleeson plays devious criminal ‘Knuckles’ McGinty while Grant take on the role of a ‘vain’ local celebrity.

Paddington 2, which is slated for release in the UK on November 10, is set in various London locations and sees the animated bear attempt to apprehend the thief of a rare book that he has bought for his aunt’s birthday.

The first-look trailer sees the bear try his hand at window washing, only for it all to go horribly wrong in typical Paddington style.

Ben Whishaw returns as the voice of the beloved Peruvian character, while original director Paul King helms the project.

The first film, released back in 2014, won over critics and audiences alike, becoming one of the most successful British family films of the last decade.

It went on to gross over £200 million globally, having made an impressive £50 million in the UK alone.
