The Sex Pistols caused a stir in 1976 with a four-letter tirade on teatime TV - but the punk band's bassist has come to disapprove of swearing.

Now a respectable family man aged 48, Glen Matlock (pictured) says repeated use of the f-word is 'pathetic' and he does not like his young children hearing obscenities on radio or TV.

'It's pathetic when people swear for the sake of it,' he tells Channel 4's X Rated show this Sunday. 'Something ought to be done about it.'
