British womanhood today turned on Victoria Beckham, damning the former fashion leader as a style pariah.

The once-Posh Spice has been branded the second-worst-dressed female celebrity in Britain.

What is perhaps even more galling for Mrs Beckham is that the only woman judged to be more misguided than her in the style stakes is glamour model Jordan - her sworn enemy. The blow to Posh's style self-esteem has been delivered by the 1,000 women polled for Prima magazine's annual fashion awards.

For the past two years the same poll has placed Mrs Beckham at the very summit of its best-dressed list.

This year Catherine Zeta-Jones tops the fashion podium ahead of Davina McCall, Dame Judi Dench, Emma Thompson and Cat Deeley.
