Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani and model Ben Grimes were among the guests at the after party following last night's premiere of Guy Ritchie's new Sherlock Holmes film.

Ritchie admitted there was much male bonding on the set of Sherlock Holmes including outings to his own pub The Punchbowl: "There were not a lot of women on set, no. I'd love to say something controversial about them but there isn't much to say. Jude and I have had a few late nights together at the pub but lock ins are illegal you understand so we never did any of those."

Ritchie described how he had been a fan of the stories since he was six. "All this is my opinion, how I saw Sherlock Holmes, what I thought of Watson and how I thought they should be realised. It's an unconscious, thing it isn't intellectual."
