Peaches Geldof last night stormed out of a music gig after a large part of the 200-strong crowd booed her as she presented the show.

Sir Bob's 17-year-old daughter was due to introduce the numerous bands at AOL's Winter Warmer concert in north London — which featured McFly, Amy Winehouse and the Sugababes.

However, schoolgirl Peaches quit the event at the Kentish Town Forum even before Sugababes took to the stage because she had already received abuse from the audience.

"She was extremely confident and was actually doing a really good job but obviously some people didn't quite approve of her technique," a friend said last night.

Her cause wasn't helped by a series of unexplained costume changes that saw Peaches in a different outfit every time she took the stage.

She arrived at the venue in a school uniform, then changed into a yellow dress, a green dress and a blue-striped dress before making her final appearance to welcome fellow Londoner Amy Winehouse onstage in a little black number.

A lot of effort, of course, for a schoolgirl who was due to be in her A level lesson at 9am this morning.

A pal said: "She wanted to look different for every act."

Then there was the mystery of the monikered banana that Peaches brought on stage with her at one point, bearing the label "Danny's banana".

Turns out it belonged to Danny Jones from McFly. He could be the sort of annoying flatmate who would write his name on all of his food in the fridge — but on fruit and vegetables as well?

Meanwhile, Peaches' long-suffering friend Fred Les was stopped outside the venue because he didn't have the right tickets. After the old "Don't you know who I am" routine, he was allowed in — in time, no doubt, to see his friend Peaches walking out.
