The eccentric mother of Sylvester Stallone came face to face with ex daughter-in-law Brigitte Nielsen in the Big Brother house last night.

Jackie Stallone strolled in dressed in a white fur jacket and wearing dark glasses - to her her son's ex-wife's clear dismay. ' Oh my God! It's Jackie,' Nielsen exclaimed.

She then introduced her to the confusedlooking housemates: 'This is Sylvester's mum. How are you?'

Jackie replied: 'I'm just wonderful.' Sparks are expected to fly between the two women, who could not stand each other when they were in-laws.

The psychic astrologer publicly labelled the Danish actress 'a golddigging pig' when she married her son in 1985 - but the relationship lasted just 19 months.

The 71-year-old is eligible to win the show if she remains in the house until the final on Sunday, January 23.

She said she was looking forward to her stay. 'It's a good excuse to stay drunk, frankly, for a week. I really should take three bottles of vodka but I'm afraid I'd get an ulcer,' she added.

'I intend to win. I've never lost anything in my life.'

She insisted she would not challenge Germaine Greer's role as head chef in the house. Greer's curry was the only thing that seemed to appease racing pundit John McCririck during his tantrums and sulking spells.

Greer, an outspoken academic, was appointed Royal Cook as part of a medieval theme task.

DJ Lisa I'Anson has been named Queen for three days to be waited on by her fellow housemates.

Last night, the celebrities remained in character for a jousting challenge.

Riding a tricycle, Bez beat Kenzie after a rematch ordered by I'Anson. Earlier, he beat actor Jeremy Edwards while Kenzie beat Nielsen.

Triumphant Bez, who found fame with The Happy Mondays, was exempted from all his court duties.
