It’s been revealed that Russell Brand is allowing his homeless friends to stay in his mansion in Los Angeles, while he spends more time in London.

The actor and comedian has been spending more time in the UK with his girlfriend, Jemima Khan, and while his $3.4million house in LA stays empty, he’s allowed homeless friends to stay there.

A source told the Daily Star: "It's keeping a roof over their heads, and they're good people who don't bother anyone so he doesn't see the harm. “

However, for those who might have concerns about his friends causing havoc in the star-studded neighbourhood – Brand’s neighbours include, Jennifer Aniston and Keanu Reeves – Brand has employed a supervisor to make sure they stay out of trouble.

The source continued: "Russell knows having his pals unsupervised would be pushing his luck, and probably his neighbours' patience. So he's got a friend of his from the charity he runs to stay over with them and make sure everything's in order.”

Brand is known for his kindness towards homeless people, having previously been seen handing out cash, giving lifts in his car and taking them out for meals.
