TRAFALGAR SHORES

This summer, Trafalgar Square is being transformed into a huge open-air playground on certain days. On Sun 11 Jul, the Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre returns to the capital for the first time in 10 years.

Using a specially designed theatre tank, this traditional and spectacular Vietnamese water puppetry is a real delight. Naval battles, fire-breathing dragons and other amazing spectacles are part of the show. Miss it and you may have to wait another 10 years.

Trafalgar Square, SW1 (020-7983 4100). Sun 11 Jul, 3pm-5.30pm, free. www.london.gov.uk. Also at Royal Observatory Garden, Greenwich Park, SE10 (020-8305 1818). Tue 13-Thur 15 Jul, 9.30pm, free. www.festival.org
