Stacey Solomon has responded to fans who slammed her homemade Christmas decorations.

The 34-year-old Loose Women star and mum-of-five is big into crafting and regularly likes to show off the results from her creative projects.

She particularly loves decorating her home, Pickle Cottage, for the holidays and her latest endeavours have seen her recycling old objects to make things such as a giant nutcracker and a pair of Christmas bells.

The bells, which were created from two old space hoppers covered in gold spray paint and topped with a bow, didn’t go down too well with some of her 5.8m followers.

Taking to Instagram Stories, she explained: “I’ve woken up this morning to a lot of you messaging me saying, ‘Stace, your Christmas bells are s***,’ I’m laughing because I thought they were really good, and I was like ‘Yeah, smashed it again, made some amazing Christmas bells’.

“And you lot are like, ‘What is that Stacey, it’s s***’. It’s really tickled me”, the TV star laughed.

“Look, I think this is really a good lesson to learn. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, clearly, one. And two, not every craft is a winner. Not every craft looks amazing at the end of it.”

“And loads of you say to me, ’Stace, if I made that it would look rubbish, why do you make everything look so nice?’

“Well, I don’t, clearly! Sometimes people love them and they work, and sometimes they don’t!” she laughed.

“I still stand by that when they are amongst all the other Christmas stuff at the front door, they’ll look good and they’ll make sense.

“But to be honest, I thought they looked good anyway so I’m obviously a bit delusional.”

The Essex native didn’t let the negativity get her down for too long, as she was snapped on Tuesday night with her husband Joe Swash and their brood enjoying some festive family fun at the launch of Skate at Somerset House.
