Shopaholic Coleen McLoughlin has warned girls to

As more and more young women fall into debt, Wayne Rooney's fiancee has told them to 'get a grip'.

Coleen, known for her love of designer clothes, says they should stick to cheap outfits from High Street shops.

The 20-year-old said: "Apparently more and more young women are getting into debt because they try to shop and party like a footballer's wife.

"If I heard of anyone doing that I'd tell them to get a grip."

In her latest column for Closer magazine she added: "There's so much great stuff on the high street these days that you can look amazing on a budget.

"I also don't think it makes much sense to say someone wants to look like or be like a footballer's wife as there are hundreds of us and we all have our own style."

Recent research showed an increasing number of women are becoming bankrupt, crippled by credit card debts and soaring household bills.

The proportion of women bankrupts has risen from 42% to 44% over the past year, according to accountants Wilkins Kennedy.

Since 2002, the figure has risen from 32% to 42%.

Coleen has been pictured laden with bags from London stores but later this week will make her debut in a TV advert for supermarket Asda's clothing fashion brand George.
