Sven Goran Eriksson's on-off girlfriend stepped out of the house resplendent in a full-length fur coat and bright pink flat cap.

Was she wrapped up in such sumptuous style for some posh get-together with the glitterati? Er, no ... she was just nipping out for some breakfast.

The 43-year-old Italian lawyer left jaws dropping as she strolled into a cafe in central London in the imposing sheepskin and mink creation - thought to have cost around £4,000.

'She seemed to be a bit dressed up for first thing in the morning,' said one onlooker. 'When she flounced into the bar, everyone was looking at her.'

But Miss Dell'Olio is nothing if not adventurous when it comes to clothes. She once went to a 10 Downing Street function in a bright red Elvis Presley-style catsuit.

However, she laughs off criticism, saying she would give herself '11 out of 10' for fashion sense.

This is not the first time she has been seen in a fur coat - she once wore one costing £6,000 in Claridge's Hotel.

Asked about it - considering the concerns of animal-lovers - she replied: 'It's chinchilla - they're not endangered!'

Earlier this month, the Mail revealed how Miss Dell'Olio's love of hair extensions appears to have given her a bald spot.
