This year not only marks the Queen's 50th year on the throne, but also the teddy bear's 100th birthday. Teddy bears are big business, judging by the 150-plus exhibitors at Hugglets Winter Bearfest this weekend. Lots of big names, including Steiff - probably the most famous teddy bear-maker in existence - Teddystyle and HM Bear, plus a selection from independent bear makers Joe Green from the UK and Anna Koetse from the Netherlands.

The 1904 PB28 Bear will make a rare appearance and, if you've a poorly bear, the Bath Teddy Bear Clinic should be able to repair it. If you have a special bear at home, valuation/dating is available from specialist dealers.

Winter Bearfest, Sun 24 February, Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street, London W8. For more details, call 01273 697 974.
