Miami's not the only place for great tunes and serious partying.

1. Movement 2004

Detroit's Electronic Music Festival is free and spans three days. Last year, guests including Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins, Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, Slum Village, Dwele, Amp Fiddler and Danny Krivit drew a crowd of 1million. May 29 to 31. ww.movementfestival.com

2. Mutek

The line-up for the fifth Mutek festival is not yet confirmed, but last year Montreal's annual celebration of electronic music and culture hosted T. Raumschmiere, Magda and myriad boundary-pushing electronica artists.

3. Lake Of Stars

All-conquering Liverpool night Chibuku Shake Shake (the name is inspired by a Malawian alcoholic beverage) organise a three-day party featuring Groove Armada's Andy Cato and Chibuku residents at Lake Malawi.
