But the worst is still to come as Max later jumps in front of a speeding car to save his brother Tom, with friends and family gathering  around his motionless body.

It marks a dramatic exit for the 26-year-old actor, who has been with the show since who’s been with Hollyoaks since he was in his early teens.

He plans to continue acting, and also hopes to direct.

He has said: 'I trained as an actor and it’s been my love from a very young age so I’d never leave it behind.'

'So people will still be seeing my ugly mug somewhere else, and the people I work with haven’t seen the back of me either.'
