Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria struggled to stay standing as she unwisely visited a building site in flip-flops yesterday.

The actress and a group of girlfriends stopped at the site on the sloping Hollywood Hills after checking out a movie in Hollywood.

It is believed one of Eva's friends is building their dream home in the same neighbourhood as the actress' home with husband Tony Parker.

Despite changing from her sky-high stilettos to a more comfortable pair of white flip-flops, Eva was losing a battle to stay upright and was forced to grab onto her friends or building material so she wouldn't fall over.

Despite sliding earth and building debris scattered around the site, Eva and her friends toured the new home in their inappropriate attire.

While another friend was also wearing flip-flops, Eva's blonde pal was spotted in deep discussion with the builders in four-inch wedge heels.

As the ground started to crumble beneath her feet, Eva broke into a run and managed to grab onto a rigid pole just in time.

Eva should know better - the accident-prone star has been hospitalised twice on the set of Desperate Housewives.

In October 2006, Eva was hospitalised with bruised ribs after falling down the stairs of her trailer.

The 33-year-old has admitted in the past she is clumsy, saying: "Tony always laughs because I'm actually really clumsy."

Eva and basketball ace husband Tony bought a $3.8million (£1.9million) house in the Hollywood Hills last year.

The couple, who married in Paris last July, are currently building an environmentally-friendly house in their hometown of San Antonio, Texas.
