Rochelle Humes, Myleene Klass and Katie Price are among celebrities who have posted online about their children dressing up for this year’s World Book Day.

This Morning presenter Humes’ children, including Blake, three, and Valentina, six, dressed as Oompa Loompas from the Roald Dahl classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Meanwhile, her eldest daughter Alaia-Mai, 10, dressed as Kristy from Ann M. Martin’s Babysitters Club book series.

Myleene Klass and her fiancé Simon Motson went above and beyond to make train-mad son Apollo’s locomotive dreams come true by building him a cardboard train.

Uploading a video to Instagram highlighting the painstaking work that had gone into the project, the result was a cardboard version of The Little Red Train, complete with a drum filled with sweets for Apollo’s classmates.

EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa revealed that daughters Ella, seven, and Mia, four, were dressed as Dr Seuss character Thing 1, and Peter Pan’s Tinkerbell, respectively.

Veteran glamour model and mum-of-five Katie Price raised eyebrows online by revealing youngest daughter Bunny, nine, had opted to dress up as her for the occasion.

Sharing pictures of the youngster online, Bunny could be seen wearing an outfit inspired by Price’s stint in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

“Well you can’t deny her mum has written 54 books so can’t deny I’m a successful author hence Bunny dressing up as me in the jungle for national book day,” she wrote in the accompanying caption.

World Book Day is a charity event which was first celebrated in the UK in 1998 and is held in the United Kingdom and Ireland on the first Thursday in March. Every child in full-time education is provided with a voucher to be spent on books.

With that in mind, it’s unclear what incentive Heart Breakfast’s Amanda Holden, Ashley Roberts and Jamie Theakston had for dressing up themselves, but they certainly looked like they had a lot of fun doing it.

The trio took inspiration from C. S. Lewis' novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, with Holden dressing as the White Witch in a white sparkly jumpsuit, a crown and a fur shrug.

Roberts sported a skin-tight lion jumpsuit and matching ears to portray Aslan and Theakston clearly drew the short straw as he was the wardrobe complete with two doors.
