A Fortune awaiting Cole

13 April 2012

Charlton defender Jon Fortune is relishing the prospect of marking Andy Cole at Ewood Park tomorrow.

The 21-year-old has impressed since breaking into the side last month but faces a stern test against Blackburn's new £8 million signing from Manchester United.

Fortune said: "Andy Cole is a super player and has scored goals at every club he has played for. It will be another hard challenge for me but one I am looking forward to.

"Andy seems to get a lot of stick but I believe he is a great finisher and his record proves that.

"I won't change the way I play against him and will hopefully come out on top."

The Islington-born centrehalf, who has recently signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract, has stepped into the void left by injured Richard Rufus. He added: "I am very happy at the moment and things seem to be going really well for me at the club.

"I broke into the side just before Christmas, have played a few games for the first team and I just want to cement my place in the side."

Defender Luke Young is suspended, but manager Alan Curbishley has midfielder Scott Parker available again after serving a one-match ban.

Bulgarian international Radostin Kishishev is back in the squad after missing the first half of the season with knee ligament damage.

South African defender Mark Fish also returns after being rested for the FA Cup clash against Blackpool last week.
