Adams' time may be up at Ricoh

12 April 2012

An emotional Micky Adams hinted he may have managed Coventry for the final time, after the Sky Blues were knocked out of the FA Cup 2-0 by Coca-Cola League One side Bristol City.

Saturday's dismal 4-2 home defeat to Crystal Palace increased the pressure on the under-fire boss, and Adams looked a broken man after watching Coventry get outclassed by their lower league opponents. The home fans greeted the final whistle with a resounding chorus of "we want Adams out" as his team were booed off the pitch.

Adams said: "There are players who are playing without confidence, and they need to look at themselves - but I've not lost any confidence or belief in what I'm all about. This is a time not to be worrying too much about myself, because all will be revealed."

Adams refused to be drawn on whether the axe had already been wielded. He added: "When I say that I mean I will not be resigning. But I am not going to go into all that now, because it will all come out anyway - and I think that would be disrespectful to Bristol City.

"They should have the credit they deserve because it's their night. Bristol City came here full of confidence and had belief in what they were doing.

"We lacked that, and there was only one winner. We can only apologise to the supporters for a performance which was not good enough to say the least. We got what we deserved and we should be out of the cup."
