Agent: Riordan would talk to Clarets

12 April 2012

Derek Riordan's agent claims the Celtic striker is interested in discussing a permanent move to Burnley.

Riordan has been unable to hold down a place in the Celtic side this season.

"But if he's to go it must be on a permanent basis," McArthur told BBC Scotland. "I'm sure it would suit all parties if an agreement could be reached."

He added: "The only club to have made an official offer is Burnley for £400,000 plus add-ons.

"Derek would be very keen to speak with them if an agreement was reached."

Riordan, 25, joined Celtic from Hibernian in 2006 but has not made the impact his form for the Easter Road side suggested he would.

While Riordan could be on his way out of Celtic Park, the club have been linked with FC Saturn Moscow's Slovakian defender Jan Durica.

Durica's agent Karel Csonto reportedly told the Slovakian press: "The Scottish side have offered Saturn a four million euros (£3million) bid, which is not an adequate offer.

"The Russians have already turned it down. Personally, at present I don't see his move to Celtic too realistic."
