Arsenal legend Thierry Henry: Tottenham have 'amazing chance' to win title - I never thought I'd say that

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry believes Tottenham have an "amazing chance" to win the Premier League title after admitting he never thought the Gunners' fierce rivals would ever mount a serious challenge in his lifetime.

Tottenham trail league leaders Leicester City by two points ahead of the Foxes' match against West Brom on Tuesday, though Mauricio Pochettino's side could be top on Wednesday night if they beat West Ham and Claudio Ranieri's side fall to the Baggies.

Arsenal sit three points behind their north London rivals after a damaging defeat at Manchester United, leaving Arsene Wenger's side with it all to do with 11 games remaining.

Henry - who won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups with the Gunners as well as being the club's record scorer with 228 goals - says Spurs have surprised him this season.

Asked whether Spurs can win their first league title since 1961, Henry told Sky Sports News HQ: “It is a hard one to say but Tottenham have an amazing chance to win the league.

“I never thought I’d say that in my lifetime. Fair play to the team, and Mauricio Pochettino did something amazing.

“Tottenham believe that they can win the league and it is all down to him."

Despite the praise for Spurs' run so far, Henry believes that their trip to face West Ham at the Boleyn Ground on Wednesday for the final time could prove decisive ahead of the north London derby at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

"Now, the West Ham game is vital to them because if they win it, suddenly they have Arsenal coming to them and they could be three points ahead," he added.
