Arsenal may appeal over Keown ban

13 April 2012

Arsenal will wait until after tonight's game between England and Albania before they decide whether to appeal against Martin Keown's one-match ban.

The punishment was handed down at an FA hearing yesterday into two separate incidents during the Premiership clash with Leeds at Highbury last May.

If they decide not to appeal, the ban is likely to come into force immediately, meaning Keown would sit out Saturday's London derby at Chelsea.

An appeal would delay the ban, so should club-mate Sol Campbell suffer an injury tonight it may influence their thinking.
