Arsenal set to look at youngster

13 April 2012

Argentina Under-17 goalkeeper Damian Emiliano Martinez is set for a trial at Arsenal.

Martinez, who is on the books of Independiente, will fly to England tomorrow along with Argentina youth goalkeeping coach Miguel Angel Santoro.

Santoro told ESPN Radio Rivadavia: "I am sure that he will not only stay with the English club but we will also see him in goal for the first team too.

"He still needs some time because he is young, but you can see (Getafe's Oscar) Ustari, (Independiente's Damian) Assmann or Sergio Romero, who is playing in Holland (at AZ Alkmaar).

"Even though they are young, they grew up and progressed a lot."
