Ashley spends £6k on shirt

Ashley Cole may be arguing with Arsenal about whether he is worth £70,0000 a week but he showed his generous side last night when he paid £6000 to Patrick Vieira's charity Diambars at a gala dinner in London.
Cole, who is at the centre of a tapping storm after a reported illegal approach from Chelsea, paid the money to buy a signed shirt from AC Milan defender Paolo Maldini.
The top bid at the auction was from Cole's Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry who paid £10,000 for the guitar of Charlene Spiteri, lead singer of Texas.
Sol Campbell, who is recovering from an ankle injury, spent £5000 on a signed shirt of Real Madrid maestro Zinedine Zidane.
