Zoe Smith got the better of Welsh veteran Michaela Breeze to claim gold in the women's 58kg weightlifting in Glasgow.

Smith trailed Breeze by a single kilo after the snatch part of the competition in which the Commonwealth Games record was broken three times.

But after Breeze failed at 113kgs in the clean and jerk, Smith responded with a mighty 115kg to cement her gold medal position.
