Atouba in late fitness test

Tottenham head coach Jacques Santini was to give Thimothee Atouba a final chance to prove his fitness in training this afternoon ahead of the Barclays Premiership clash with Manchester United.

The Cameroon midfielder took a blow to the knee which affected the feeling in his foot and Santini does not expect him to be available to play at White Hart Lane.

Santini is already without Michael Carrick who is abut 10 days away from full fitness after suffering an ankle injury and Sean Davis is only just on the verge of shaking a knee problem.

Erik Edman and Noureddine Naybet come back into the squad after being rested for the 6-0 hiding of Oldham in the Carling Cup on Wednesday.
