Aussies fall to Singh spin

13 April 2012

Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh today continued his hold over Australia to give India a great chance of wrapping up the Test series in Madras.

Singh, who had taken 20 wickets in the tourists previous three innings, claimed another five as Australia suffered on the fourth day of the deciding Test.

Australia ended the day on 241 for seven - a lead of just 131 - with captain Steve Waugh, unbeaten on 43. Singh finished with figures of five for 82.

The West Indies needed 200 more runs for victory with nine wickets still standing at stumps on the fourth day of the Second Test against South Africa in Trinidad - thanks to a tour de force performance from veteran paceman Courtney Walsh.

Walsh's six for 61 helped bowl the tourists out for 287, after they had started the day on 132 for two with Herschelle Gibbs on 57 and Daryll Cullinan on 41.

In reply, the West Indies were 32 for one.
