Australia restrict tourists

Australia require 213 runs to complete a series clean sweep over Pakistan after the tourists were bowled out for 212 in the last over of the fifth and final one-day international at the WACA.

Clint McKay claimed four wickets, Ryan Harris three and Mitchell Johnson two as Australia's three front-line bowlers took nine of the 10 wickets to fall.

Only a patient 67 from Umar Akmal and a fighting 63 from Fawad Alam ensured Pakistan's bowlers have a total to defend.

Just five balls into the first over of the day, the in-form Harris had his first wicket. Salman Butt (nought) flashed at a delivery outside off stump, offering up a simple chance to Brad Haddin behind the stumps to leave his team nought for one.

Khalid Latif, one of three changes to the Pakistan side, also failed to trouble the scorers as Pakistan slumped to nought for two in the next over. He drove Johnson back down the pitch but could not keep it down, the left-arm paceman taking a sharp one-handed chance in his first match back from a short break.

McKay got in on the act in the ninth over when Younus Khan (three) edged a catch through to Haddin and the game looked to be heading for an early finish with Pakistan wobbling at 16 for three.

But Shoaib Malik (36) and Akmal at least showed some backbone to keep the Australians at bay until a poor run out ended their promising 60-run fourth-wicket partnership. Johnson broke the union, brilliantly running out Malik by chasing a run off his own bowling and under-arming a direct hit at the wicketkeeper's end.

The dangerous Shahid Afridi (one), stand-in captain in the absence of the injured Mohammad Yousuf, lasted just four balls before launching into an ill-advised front-foot pull shot and top-edging a catch to Nathan Hauritz running in from mid-off.

Sarfraz Ahmed (six) came and went before Harris took his 13th wicket of the series when he removed Rana's off stump for eight with the score on 189.

Some big hitting from Iftikhar Anjum (16 from eight balls) late in the innings lifted Pakistan past 200 before McKay finished off the innings.
