Baggies look to snap up Tottenham teenager Adel Taarabt on loan

Tony Mowbray has launched a bid to sign Spurs wonderkid Adel Taarabt on loan.

West Brom manager Mowbray has targeted Taarabt, 19, as he looks for recruits following promotion to the top flight.

The French winger will be allowed to move to gain first-team experience.

Meanwhile, Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon's hopes of a move to Aston Villa are fading with the news Villa Park boss Martin O'Neill is preparing to launch bid for 22-year-old Newcastle star James Millner.

Milner made 33 appearances for the club when he spent the 2005-2006 season on-loan at Villa Park.

The England under-21 international is O'Neill's number one target to increase Villa's options on the right wing - ahead of Chelsea's Shaun Wright Phillips and Lennon.
