Bairstow blasts stunning ton

Jonny Bairstow plundered a remarkable 53-ball hundred as England made 367 for four in today's second and final warm-up match before the one-day international series against India.

Openers Alastair Cook (85) and Craig Kieswetter (71) shared a stand of 159 in under 26 overs against a Hyderabad Cricket Association XI. But both went soon afterwards, as did Kevin Pietersen, to the bowling of Medhi Hasan (three for 63).

It therefore fell to Bairstow (104no) and Jonathan Trott (74), in a partnership of 143, to make sure England cashed in properly on their good start.

As on his ODI debut in Cardiff last month, Bairstow looked a cut above - albeit this time against a less than international class attack - with a display of clean striking which brought him eight sixes and six fours.

His last maximum, clubbed over long-on off Ashish Reddy from the final ball of the innings, completed his hundred.

The duo helped the tourists hit 105 from the last 10 overs.
