Banned Fallon to miss Derby

Kieren Fallon will miss the Vodafone Derby on Saturday week after being suspended at Ayr today.

The former champion jockey was found guilty of irresponsible riding on third-placed Distinctive Dream and suspended from 9-11 June inclusive.

Fallon appeared to barge his way through on the stand rails causing interference to the unplaced Tancred Times.

The ban is a major blow to Fallon who was expected to partner either ante- post favourite Golan or Dilshaan in the Epsom Classic.

Fallon, who made a successful return to race riding after suffering career-threatening injuries in a fall at Royal Ascot, rode the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Golan to victory in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket.
