Battle will go to the Bridge, warns Xavi

Barcelona midfielder Xavi believes the semi-final will go right to the wire and be decided at Stamford Bridge.

The Catalan club cruised through the quarter-finals after thrashing Bayern Munich 4-0 at home in the first leg before playing out a comfortable 1-1 draw in Germany.

Xavi insists Chelsea, who knocked Barcelona out of the competition in the last-16 stage four years ago, will be much tougher opposition.

He said: "They've got the same players and they'll make it hard for us. They are tough opponents and combine talent and strength.

"They've got match winners like Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka and players who, I think, are the best at what they do like Michael Essien and John Terry.

"Champions League ties are usually decided in the second game. They're usually pretty even affairs and whatever happens at the Nou Camp, it'll all be decided at Stamford Bridge."
