Blackburn reject bid for Dikov

14 April 2012

Blackburn have rejected an undisclosed bid from Birmingham for striker Paul Dickov, the club revealed today.

Dickov told Rovers he was happy to stay and had no intention of leaving after he and his agent were informed of the situation.

Chief executive John Williams said: "We rejected the approach. Paul also made it clear he was happy here and had no intention of leaving."

Dickov 31, has scored five goals for Blackburn this season after moving from relegated Leicester in the summer for £150,000.

He made his name at Manchester City where he spent six seasons and helped the club win two promotions.

A dogged, determined striker, Dickov started his career at Arsenal in 1992 then moved to City for £750,000 in 1996.
