Boro consider summer bid for Baggies star

Middlesbrough are lining up a summer move for West Bromwich Albion winger Zoltan Gera.

Hungarian international Gera is out of contract at the end of the season when he will be a free agent.

Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is a long time admirer of the 28-year-old who cost Albion £1.5m from Ferencvaros in 2004.

Southgate tried to sign him last season and has retained an interest.

Albion have held contract talks with Gera but he will not decide on his future until the end of the season.

If Albion miss out on promotion he looks certain to leave.
