Boro eyes on Spurs' Mido

Middlesbrough are preparing to revive their interest in Spurs striker Mido after he rejected Birmingham's contract offer.

Mido, 24, verbally agreed personal terms over a £6million move last week but was unhappy with part of Birmingham's contract offer concerning a release clause.

However, fellow Egyptian Hossam Ghaly was at St Andrew's yesterday to open talks about a £3m switch from White Hart Lane.

Birmingham boss Steve Bruce may now look to Aiyegbeni Yakubu of Middlesbrough, who yesterday completed the £2.5m signing of Charlton defender Luke Young.
