Boro target Digard suspended by Paris St Germain for 'incompetence' slur

13 April 2012

Didier Digard's stand-off with Paris St Germain has taken a new turn, with the player being suspended by the French club.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who still believes his £4million move to Middlesbrough will go through, will be disciplined for calling his current club side incompetent.

Trouble ahead: Didier Digard is facing a clash with his current club PSG before completing a move to Middlesbrough

That has infuriated PSG officials, who are now considering fining Digard.

The  player has agreed a £750,000-a-year deal to move to the Riverside Stadium and has already spent time being shown around their training ground.

His representatives are surprised at the delay, believing everything had been signed and are still optimistic the transfer will take place.

Gareth Southgate wants a more dynamic midfield this season and is still in the race for Swansea's Ferie Bodde with a view to a £2million deal.

Meanwhile, right-back Tony McMahon has signed a new one-year deal to stay with  Middlesbrough.
