Caretaker: Kit Symons
Giuseppe Muro20 October 2014

Brede Hangeland today backed caretaker manager Kit Symons to get the Fulham job on a permanent basis.

Former Fulham captain Hangeland believes Symons has lifted the mood around Craven Cottage following the departure of Felix Magath.

Symons strengthened his claims for the Fulham job with Saturday’s 1-0 win against Norwich and Hangeland, now with Crystal Palace, said: “He is a wonderful man and a very good manager, so it would not be a terrible choice if he was there [permanently]. What has happened in the last six months is a sad chapter in the club’s history.

“There seems to be more smiles around the place now and they have picked up some good results, so hopefully they can move up the table.

“Kit is a great guy, I can totally understand why there are more smiles around the place with him in charge.

“Hopefully he gets them winning some more games.”
