Brentford await Indian summer

Ken Dyer13 April 2012

Brentford are expecting a crowd of more than 8,000 when the Indian national team visit Griffin Park tonight - but there will be a possible television audience of millions watching in India.

It is the second time India have toured this country in 12 months and Brentford is the first of four fixtures the national team are playing this summer.

A Brentford spokesman said: "The demand has been enormous and unlike any normal pre-season friendly we have had advance ticket sales.

"This game will put Brentford on the map. We will also be holding a collection for the Indian Earthquake Appeal."

Manager Steve Coppell will be able to pick from the same squad that beat Woking on Friday and may give midfielder Martin Rowlands his first game in pre-season having recovered from a groin operation.
