Bulls receive positive Lynch news

12 April 2012

Bradford prop forward Andy Lynch will be fit for the start of next season, Bulls coach Steve McNamara has been assured.

The 26-year-old was having a plate inserted in his broken ankle on Tuesday after sustaining the serious injury in Saturday's Super League play-off win over Warrington. Lynch, who was voted the club's player of the year and named in Great Britain's stand-by squad for the Tri-Nations, is facing a three-month recovery period.

"After missing out on the semi-final and the final last year, it's a cruel blow to him and the team," said McNamara. "But he's in good hands. There have been a few problems in getting him operated on but he will be fixed up and the information we're getting from the specialist is he will make a full recovery. The early estimates are three months so he'll be back for the start of next season."
