Bulls release Hall

Glenn Hall

Bradford have released Australian forward Glenn Hall after just one season at Odsal and five weeks before the start of the new season.

The 29-year-old prop or second-rower had two years left on his three-year contract but agreed to terminate it early and will return home with his pregnant wife Kylie.

Hall arrived at Odsal 12 months ago amid high expectations having played a key role in Manly Sea Eagles' 2008 NRL Grand Final triumph and the following year's World Club Challenge victory over Leeds. He scored the match-winning try against Wigan in his fifth appearance in Super League but generally struggled for form, starting just seven of his 25 appearances.

"We have agreed for various reasons that it's best to go our separate ways," Bulls chairman Peter Hood said.

"Glenn has at all times proved himself a model professional and we wish him every success in the future."

Hall is the 10th player to leave Bradford in a major shake-up following the arrival of new coach Mick Potter and his departure frees up a vacancy on their overseas quota, allowing them to finally register Australian half-back Marc Herbert, who signed in November.

Meanwhile, eight of the club's 10 new arrivals are set to feature in Sunday's pre-season friendly against Halifax at Odsal, which will be Jamie Langley's testimonial match.
