Burley holding out

14 April 2012

Millwall chairman Jeff Burnige will have talks with George Burley this afternoon about the vacant manager's position at the Den, though there appears to be little chance of the former Derby boss taking over from Dennis Wise.

Sources close to Burley indicate that the 49-year-old Scot, who walked out on Derby last week, will hold out for another opportunity, preferably with a more highprofile club.

Should Burley decline Millwall's advances, Burnige could turn his attention to Ray Lewington, who, despite being linked with a coaching role at Fulham, has been out of work since he was dismissed as Watford manager in March.
