Calderon hopeful over Kaka swoop

12 April 2012

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon remains optimistic Kaka will engineer a move to the Bernabeu this summer.

The AC Milan playmaker was the outstanding performer in last season's Champions League, inspiring the Rossoneri to the title with a tournament-best 10 goals.

And Calderon told newspaper AS: "We all know that Kaka will have to force his exit from Milan and I continue to believe that he will try."

Even though Milan have made it clear they have no intention of parting with their prize asset, Calderon is hopeful the Brazil star will join the recently-crowned Spanish champions for next season.

Calderon also announced on Tuesday that Madrid have agreed a deal with Germany defender Christoph Metzelder, whose contract at Borussia Dortmund is due to expire at the end of the month.

"We've been working on new signings for the last three months. Metzelder is signed up and there are three more who are almost done," Calderon added.
