Campion there again

Campion have proved Essex's finest over many seasons in the the Daily MailUnder 18 Cup and reached the quarter-finals for the eighth time when theytrounced Bishop Stortford High School 50-12.

They led 22-5 at half time andthen put their visitors through the mangle.'We've not being playing consistently because of the weather,' said coachChris Jones, 'but this was very pleasing.'

Mark Vincent's opening try was cancelled out by Stortford's England flankerBen Skirving but Campion took control with further touchdowns from skipperJames Griffiths, Tim Dowling and fly half Mike Whitehead.

Stortford scoredagain just after half time but Campion opened up in the last quarter withtries from Barry Watkins, Danny Vincent and Phil Crawley.

Whitehead hadgood day with the boot, contributing 17 points.

Campion travel to meet StBenedict's, Ealing or Whitgift.
