Carroll out to be No1 hit

14 April 2012

Roy Carroll aims to become Northern Ireland's No1 after reclaiming his place at Manchester United.

Carroll has ousted Tim Howard at Old Trafford in recent weeks and plans to win over international manager Lawrie Sanchez and replace Birmingham's Maik Taylor in tomorrow's Group Six qualifier against Azerbaijan.

Carroll said: "I am still enjoying my time with Northern Ireland but I want to get back in the team. At the moment Maik is doing really well. But I am knocking on the door."
