Chambers in room row

14 April 2012

Dwain Chambers has quit the athletes' village at the world championships in Paris in protest at the standard of accommodation.

Leaving his Great Britain team-mates behind, the sprinter has moved into a hotel after being disgusted by the student room he was allocated at the City University.

His manager John Regis said: "Dwain's not looking for five-star luxury but you have to be able to give it your full focus. When he came in and saw the accommodation he was not happy."

Members of the American team are also rumoured to be angry about accommodation in the city which is battling with London for the right to stage the 2012 Olympics.
