Charlton are urged to stick with Phil Parkinson

Sticking together: Mark Hudson is hoping that Phil Parkinson stays on as Charlton manager of their League One campaign

Mark Hudson is urging the Charlton board to keep faith with manager Phil Parkinson in the wake of their relegation from the Championship.

Parkinson has one year remaining on his contract but refused to discuss his position in the aftermath of the 2-2 draw with Blackpool that finally condemned them to League One.

"From the start of next season it is important we start well," said captain Hudson. "We need to sort our managerial situation out, and I hope Parky stays as he has experience of League One."

Watford boss Brendan Rodgers saw his side lose 1-0, while caretaker manager Gareth Ainsworth was unable to prevent his QPR side going down 1-0 at Wolves, for whom the win clinched promotion.

Victor Moses was sent off but Crystal Palace clinched a 1-0 victory over Derby County thanks to a strike from Shefki Kuqi.

Manager Neil Warnock said: "The referee got it completely wrong on the red card. Victor was touched for the first yellow card and then he played the ball for the second."
