Charlton £1.7m loss

14 April 2012

Charlton today announced a net loss of nearly £1.7million for the six months ending 31 December 2004.

Turnover fell by eight per cent to £19.5m which chairman Richard Murray attributed mainly to a 10 per cent drop in television revenues.

Murray urged broadcasters and the Premier League to avoid saturation coverage of the game. He said: "We must not allow our product to be overexposed as this will lead to a decline in attendances."

The wages-to-turnover ratio stands at 73 per cent, with the club having made a number of signings last summer, including Danny Murphy and Dennis Rommedahl.
